CORE SPIRIT

Premium young fashion label Core Spirit wanted to create a genuinely exciting concept for their new flagship store in London's New Bond Street.

The overall objective was to build a social media community to connect customers, creative individuals and young professionals in the fashion industry. The rendezvous point for this new community is the in-store catwalk at the New Bond Street store. After booking online, customers receive a makeover by hair and make-up artists and select Core Spirit clothing before taking to the in-store catwalk. The catwalk experience is captured in high definition video and automatically augmented with a branded video overlay to evoke the atmosphere and thrills of a real fashion event.

The in-store catwalk experience is controlled by Core Spirit staff via an iPad application written by Kaleidovision. With just a press of a button on the iPad, the store lights go down, the catwalk lights go up, music starts, a video backdrop runs and the camera starts recording as the customer appears at the end of the runway.

The customer can then review their video on touch sensitive video displays built into the shopfitting, and then the video is augmented digitally to create the illusion of a live fashion show. The video is then posted to the Core Spirit website and other social media sites including Facebook, Youtube and Linkedin. Within the online community, members can vote for the month's best model, hairdresser, make-up artist or stylist. Winning videos are then broadcast on various fashion TV channels, giving participents invaluble industry exposure.

Kaleidovision were involved throughout the project - from the initial concept, through the design and development of the main web site which handles the bookings, competitions, voting, and Facebook integration, to the iPad-driven in-store video and control technology.
