Gala Bingo: digital pricing screens
Kaleidovision provided design and content management tools for a digital pricing screen solution for Gala Bingo.
Introduction
Gala Bingo are the largest operator of bingo clubs in the UK. Their pricing formula is relatively complex - prices change up to fourteen times a day, and various options become available at certain times and on certain days. Gala wanted to be able to move away from complex print-based displays, and utilise the benefits of digital pricing screens which can update pricing according to a re-determined schedule.
Objectives
Kaleidovision was challenged with providing a user-friendly application that venue managers could use to display their pricing information. Gala wanted a solution allowing central control over template design and pricing format, but with local flexibility to set and schedule specific prices. The system needed to have a central reporting function.
Solutions
Creatively, a number of motion graphics template backgrounds were produced, to cover the multiple sales points in most clubs.
Technically, the solution incorporates a secure browser-based administration system that allows managers to have individual control of screens and pricing in their venues. The portal design follows the manager's thought process in setting up daypart sessions, pricing details, optional extras, and other messages. The scheduling management (times that pricing changes) is inferred automatically by the software to synchronise with the advertised times of various games.
